Heed GOP Advice: Ignore Us If You Don't Care About the Environment, Kids or Clean Water

The secret is out. Republican House candidates in Michigan are being advised not to respond to questionnaires from 16 organizations, including the Michigan League of Conservation Voters.

According to MIRS and a blogger known as the Republican Michigander, "A House Republican Campaign Committee field staffer forwarded a message to GOP House candidates in which it's recommended that they do not respond to the questionnaires of 16 organizations that, arguably, have liberal leanings and have not, historically, endorsed large numbers of Republican candidates."

First of all, our endorsements are based on issues, not whether there's a D or R (or maybe an I) after your name.

The groups on the list include MCLV, Sierra Club, Clean Water Action, Healthy Michigan, Healthy Kids and Project Vote Smart.

By all means, candidates, please heed this advice if you don't care about environmental protection, clean water, healthy kids and the education of voters.

If you do, however, go ahead and fill out the questionnaire and send it back.

Thanks, Frank (the staffer who doled out this great advice).
