Former Michigan Governor William Milliken agrees with MLCV, endorses Rick Snyder
Earlier this week, we announced our endorsement of businessman Rick Snyder in the Republican primary for governor. Snyder was our first-ever endorsement in a Republican governor's race and our first GOP endorsement in the 2010 election cycle.
Today, former Michigan Governor and MLCV honorary co-chair William Milliken announced he would also be endorsing Snyder in the Republican primary.
In a statement, Milliken said he “found Rick Snyder to be a candidate with a keen understanding of, and strong commitment to, the state’s role in protecting the environment.”
Milliken also mentioned our endorsement in his press release, saying, “the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, in giving him its first ever endorsement of a Republican candidate for governor cited his 'plans to protect Michigan’s environment and his position on the role it plays in enhancing business development and job creation.'”
We’re excited that Snyder has the support of another Republican environmental champion like former Governor Milliken.
