The BlueGreen Alliance and Operation Free are each hosting events to provide a space for residents to demand action from legislators on clean energy jobs and climate change legislation.

The Job's Not Done Tour, presented by the BlueGreen Alliance, is a 17-state, 30-stop national bus tour featuring clean energy workers, union members and environmentalists demanding action on clean energy jobs. The tour began in Carson, California, on Aug. 16 and wraps up in Richmond, Virginia, on Sept. 3.

The tour will make three stops in Michigan --- Warren on Aug. 23 and Lansing and Grand Rapids on Aug. 24. RSVPs are requested. For more information, see the flyer (pdf).

The Veterans for American Power Tour, presented by Operation Free, will travel to 21 states and 72 cities to discuss the national security implications of climate change and our dependence on oil. This tour is an opportunity for U.S. Army veterans to encourage voters to take decisive action on energy independence and security, while addressing the military repercussions of climate change.

The Operation Free Tour will stop in Marshall on Aug. 26 at the Marshall VFW Post 4073, with the program beginning at 7 p.m. and lasting for an hour. For more information, see the flyer (pdf).

These events are a chance for citizens and voters to demand action from our representatives and senators in Lansing and Washington, D.C., to expedite the process of clean energy and climate change legislation, creating and preserving more jobs, creating less pollution, and increasing security causing for a greener and safer America.
