The fight to create a healthy economy continues, and U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow recently took a stand at the UAW Center in Black Lake, keynoting a discussion on bringing green jobs to Michigan.

The senator continues to be a leader in pushing for safe environmental practices that will reduce and hopefully eliminate our nation’s dependence on foreign oil. In her address, Stabenow stressed that we need to develop the manufacturing of wind turbines in Michigan, an industry she feels would serve to jumpstart our economy, as well as protect our natural resources.

Stabenow rationalizes that, “with new energy solutions come new jobs and new industries,” and according to her, the solution is the wind turbine. Stabenow continues to push legislation that will make the environment a priority, recently introducing the Permanent Prevention of Asian Carp Act, which aims to protect Lake Michigan from invasive species.
