Fracking: Now they're listening, but we still need your support

photo water and fracking don't fix

Thanks to citizens throughout Michigan, Governor Snyder and the Director of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) have received almost 500 e-mails over the past few weeks demanding stronger protections for Michigan’s water from hydraulic fracturing (or “fracking”).

Supporters like you, flooded their inboxes with personal stories, forceful protests, and a hope for a future in which Michigan families do not have to think twice about the water they drink or swim in.

While the MDEQ continues its discussions with the oil and gas industry, they now know that Michiganders are watching closely and will NOT tolerate unsafe natural gas drilling in Michigan.

Michigan LCV will continue to be a watchdog in Lansing and across the state, but we cannot do our work without you, our most dedicated supporters. Please join fellow Michigan LCV members by giving a gift of $35, $50, or $100 today.

Michigan LCV does more than help elect environmental leaders into office; we also hold our elected officials accountable for their decisions, and provide you with the tools to make your voice be heard. The fight to prevent fracking from poisoning our fresh water is far from over. Your support will ensure we have the tools necessary to keep you informed and your elected officials honest.
