Michigan LCV Endorses Aaron Bailey for State Senate in Oakland County
Today, the Michigan League of Conservation Voters endorsed Aaron Bailey for state senator in Oakland County, calling him a champion for protecting Michigan’s Great Lakes, air, land and water and creating clean energy jobs.
“The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is proud to support Aaron Bailey in his race for State Senate in Oakland County,” said Michigan League of Conservation Voters Political Director Ryan Werder. “Aaron’s commitment to building a clean energy economy—and the hundreds of thousands of jobs that come with it—is exactly the kind of bold, new vision that our petrified State Senate needs right now. Bailey understands the enormous economic value of protecting and promoting Michigan's natural resources. Oakland County is in need of a voice in Lansing that will have the courage to move it, and the State of Michigan, toward a healthier future and we firmly believe that Aaron Bailey is that voice.”
“As a businessman and an Afghanistan war veteran, I believe building a stronger, better Michigan begins with embracing clean energy technologies that will add jobs to our economy and improve national security,” says Bailey. “Michigan has the potential to be a leader in the clean energy sector, and it’s up to our state to seize that opportunity. We also need to protect our Great Lakes from oil drilling to preserve our tourism and recreational opportunities, and make sure that Michigan taxpayers don’t pay the bill for someone else’s mistake if an oil spill occurs.”
As a veteran, a businessman, and a proud Michigan resident, Aaron Bailey has been pushing for innovative policies that will reduce our reliance on oil and other fossil fuels and allow Michigan to invest in clean, renewable energy which will create jobs and protect our land, air and water for generations to come. Following his military service in Afghanistan, Bailey dedicated himself to promoting energy independence to create jobs and improve national security here at home. He has been to Washington, D.C. and Denmark to promote renewable energy, and he is also the Michigan Director of Operation Free, a national coalition of leading veterans and national security organizations who advocates for securing America through clean energy production.
In addition to his military experience, Aaron Bailey holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, and earned a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from the University of Michigan. Prior to launching his Senate campaign, Bailey worked as a business strategist in the Detroit office of McKinsey & Company, which specializes in helping businesses, government organizations, and nonprofit groups succeed in the rapidly changing economic environment.
