Tell Congress: Hands off Michigan’s Clean Energy Future

Michigan is charting its own path towards cutting pollution, lowering energy costs, and creating clean energy jobs. In 2023, we passed laws to move our state to 100% clean energy to be a national leader on climate action and clean energy. In early April, President Trump issued an executive order that tries to undermine actions at the state and local level — like right here in Michigan — to build more clean energy and make energy decisions that make the most sense for each state and local government.

This latest executive order paired with previous moves by the administration to cut services and federal funding for clean energy represent an all-out-assault on the clean energy progress we are making here in Michigan. On top of all that, Congress is working on budget legislation that could very well eliminate the climate investments and clean energy incentives that are saving lives and boosting our economy.

We know Michigan’s clean energy and climate plan is working. We are a leader in the nation for clean energy jobs. We are improving our homes and buildings to be more energy efficient and save money on energy bills. And we’re reducing pollution in our air and water to protect the health of all Michiganders. Strong laws like Michigan’s clean energy plan aren’t just good for the environment – they are good for our wallets too.

Tell Michigan’s members of Congress to stand up to Trump attacks and defend Michigan’s clean energy future.
