And we’ll show you two ways to help. Together, we can be a voice for change and protect Michigan’s land, air, water, public health, and democracy.
Michigan communities have been working hard to cut pollution, lower energy costs, and create clean energy jobs – but Trump’s unlawful cuts to critical clean energy funding are blocking progress and hurting our state.
This funding, which Congress already approved, was meant to help families afford clean energy, protect public health, and create good-paying jobs. Now, critical programs are at risk, leaving Michigan communities with higher costs, more pollution, and fewer opportunities:
- Solar for All Program: Families across Michigan – especially in low-income communities – count on this funding to access rooftop and community solar and lower their energy bills. Because of these cuts, they’re being denied cheaper, cleaner energy.
- Clean Energy & Pollution Reduction Grants: This funding was supposed to help Michigan communities plan projects to cut emissions and improve air quality. Trump’s funding cuts leave cities and towns without the resources they need to take action.
- Air Quality Monitoring: Without funding for advanced pollution tracking, Michigan communities won’t have real-time data to protect public health and hold polluters accountable – especially in areas already suffering from unhealthy or hazardous air quality.
- Clean Ports Program: Diesel pollution from Michigan’s ports is a major health hazard, especially in Detroit. This funding was supposed to reduce emissions and protect port communities – now, it’s locked away while asthma rates climb.
- Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicles Program: This funding was meant to replace dirty diesel trucks and buses with clean electric models. Trump’s cuts keep toxic fumes in our air, harming kids, seniors, and workers across the state.
Trump’s executive overreach is hurting Michigan. We have achieved historic progress and investments in clean energy, good jobs, and lower energy costs – and our communities deserve the funding we fought for.
Congress must act now to protect the funding Michigan families, workers, and businesses are counting on. Tell Congress: Protect critical clean energy funding that states and communities are counting on.
