And we’ll show you two ways to help. Together, we can be a voice for change and protect Michigan’s land, air, water, public health, and democracy.
Lawmakers in Lansing are getting ready to hold a vote on House Bills 4007 and 4283, which would classify 13 natural gas plants in the Upper Peninsula as “clean energy” despite their significant emissions and harmful environmental impacts.
The two bills would create a carve-out in Michigan’s landmark clean energy law for these outdated generators, sidestepping regulations that ensure affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy. Meanwhile, the Michigan House is holding back over $129 million in federal clean energy funds – money that could lower utility bills and bring real investments to UP communities. Instead of helping families, this bill props up polluting infrastructure at the expense of our health, environment, and long-term energy goals.
Send a message to your lawmakers in Lansing urging them to reject House Bills 4007 & 4283 and protect Michigan’s clean energy laws.
