DESCRIPTION:The Michigan League of Conservation Voters and friends are hosting a party ahead of the Michigan vs. Michigan State football game so that we can get ready for a different kind of battle — continuing our strong defense against the Trump Administration’s blitz on our climate\, health\, and future. \nJoin local climate leaders and advocates on Saturday\, October 25\, at Union Rec in Ann Arbor. It’s going to take a really strong team to push back against the attacks we are seeing — show up to build some team camaraderie\, understand the opposition\, and build our fight \nHere’s what to expect at this event: \n\nStudy Table: We will have experts on hand so that you can understand the current playing field in terms of what we are up against with the fossil fuel industry working overtime to get their friends in the White House and Congress to undercut any and all progress\nGame Planning: Together\, we will devise and adjust our game plan to hold the line against Trump Administration attacks on clean air\, clean energy\, and climate change policies\, as well as work toward progress at the state and local level\nPep Rally Atmosphere: We will fire each other up so that we have the passion and energy to keep moving the ball down the field toward our clean energy future\nBouncing Back After a Loss: The climate movement has taken some losses at the national level\, no question about it. We’ll ask the question: What do you do to bounce back after taking an L?\nCelebrating Our Victories and Training Table: Lift our spirits by celebrating the work that we’ve done together\, as well as fuel our minds and bodies with some food and drink\n\nWhen: Saturday\, October 25th\, from 11 am – 1 pm \nWhere: Union Rec in Ann Arbor – parking is available on site\, and local buses have stops nearby. \nWho: Local climate leaders\, organizations working on climate issues\, elected officials\, and everyday Michigan residents \nHow: Food\, football-themed decor\, informatio\,n and remarks about climate policy and advocacy work\, including next steps to take action \nIn a year that feels like a rebuilding year for climate advocates\, we still have opportunities at all levels to fight hard and be effective.
