DESCRIPTION:Help Shape the MI Solar for All Program — Join EGLE’s Upcoming Listening Session\nThe Michigan Department of Environment\, Great Lakes\, and Energy (EGLE) is hosting a public listening session to gather community input on the MI Solar for All program — a new initiative aimed at expanding access to solar energy for low-income households across Michigan. \nMI Solar for All will support the development of both residential and community solar projects\, with the goal of helping participating households save an average of 20% on their electricity bills. The program is designed to serve low-income Michiganders\, defined as those earning up to 80% of the area median income or 200% of the federal poverty level\, whichever is greater. \nThis session is your chance to weigh in on: \n\n\nHow funding and resources should be distributed geographically to ensure equitable access across the state \n\n\nWhat criteria should guide project selection and program design to best meet the needs of Michigan communities \n\n\nThe session will begin with a brief overview from EGLE before opening up for public comments. Each speaker will have up to three minutes to share their thoughts. All feedback will help inform final decisions about the structure and priorities of the MI Solar for All program. \nYour voice matters — help make solar energy more equitable in Michigan.
