Michigan LCV endorses Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson for governor
Lansing, MI — The Michigan League of Conservation Voters (Michigan LCV) today announced its endorsement of Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson for governor.
“Jocelyn Benson is deeply committed to addressing the energy affordability crisis in our state, holding monopoly utilities accountable, reining in unchecked data center development, and advancing solutions that protect our air, land, drinking water, and Great Lakes. She has taken the Michigan LCV No Utility Money Challenge and understands the importance of tackling the climate crisis,” said Lisa Wozniak, president and CEO of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters. “Secretary Benson has also been a steadfast champion in strengthening Michigan’s democracy, expanding access to the ballot, and defending the right to vote. She has shown both the vision and leadership needed to move Michigan forward on the issues that matter most to our communities, and Michigan LCV is proud to endorse her to be Michigan’s next governor.”
“It’s up to us to protect our environment and build a future where we lead in clean energy, guarantee safe drinking water, and fully safeguard our health and natural resources. As governor, I will answer that call and build a Michigan that is cleaner, safer, and more affordable than the one we inherited,” said Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson. “I am honored to have the Michigan League of Conservation Voters with me in that work. Together, we will lower costs, protect our environment, and lead Michigan into the future.”
