Proposals for new massive data centers are popping up in communities across Michigan. People have real concerns about what data centers mean for their communities. They use huge amounts of energy and water, take up massive amounts of land and can cause noise pollution for surrounding neighbors.
Until we have actual strong laws on the books that make sure our energy costs don’t go up, our water isn’t impacted and communities have a real say in the process, Michigan should pause new data center development.
