Throughout the month, there are a wide range of events and opportunities to celebrate Earth happening all over Michigan. Find one in your area and join the party!

Southeast Michigan 

Detroit Community Garden Wake Ups – Saturday, Apr. 13 

Join the Michigan LCV team and several of our Detroit-based partner organizations for our community garden wake-ups, connecting two historic regions of Detroit with two remarkable youth-driven organizations. Come celebrate the community’s efforts in cultivating green spaces, honoring their land and history, and highlighting shared struggles and commonalities across neighborhood boundaries. Food will be provided!

Oakland County Earth Day Rally, March, and Vendor Fair – Saturday, Apr. 20

Celebrate Earth Day with Michigan LCV! Join us on Saturday, Apr. 20 in Royal Oak for the largest Earth Day event in Oakland County, a climate rally and parade through downtown, environmentally-friendly vendors, teach-ins with experts, and special guest speakers!



Clean Energy Future Town Hall with Sen. Singh!

Join Senate Majority Floor Leader Sam Singh, the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, and other local and environmental experts on Monday, Apr. 22 from 6-7:30 p.m. in East Lansing for a panel discussion on the recently passed Clean Energy & Jobs Act, which puts Michigan on a path to 100% Clean Energy!


West Michigan

Urban Core Collective’s Education Town Hall: Structure and Culture – Wednesday, Apr. 10

Join Urban Core Collective (UCC) on Wednesday, Apr. 10 at 6 p.m. for a meeting with other Grand Rapids Public School stakeholders to identify goals and action steps toward a district structure and culture that is collaborative, communicative, and demonstrates care for its students, caregivers, and building staff.


Grand Rapids Water-Pool-Ooza – Saturday, Apr. 13

Join the City of Grand Rapids Water System on Saturday, Apr. 13 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. to explore the drinking water treatment process from toilet to tap. Water professionals at this FREE event will join us to guide students and families through the water treatment process with hands-on, interactive activities. Participants will learn more about their drinking water, explore the variety of careers in the water industry, and learn how to be a water champion!


Ardea YCC Earth Week Clean Up!

Join the Ardea Youth Climate Coalition on Saturday, Apr. 13 from 9 – 11 a.m. in Kalamazoo for a community clean-up in accordance with the 2024 international Earth Day theme of “Planet vs. Plastics!”

Grand Rapids Community Cleanup and Volunteer Block Party

Help clean up Grand Rapids neighborhoods in celebration of Earth Day at the Community Cleanup and Volunteer Block Party on Saturday, Apr. 20 from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. After the cleanup, volunteers are invited to a block party at the John Ball Park Zoo!


Kalamazoo Climate Justice Rally and March

Rally and March for Climate Justice in Kalamazoo! Join climate activists from across Kalamazoo on Friday, April 19 in marching to demand #ClimateJusticeNow! This event includes marches to Bronson Park will begin at WMU at 3 p.m. and at K College at 3:30 p.m. Rally starts at 4 p.m. in Bronson Park in Downtown Kalamazoo and will feature action opportunities, inspirational speakers, and other ways to get involved to make a difference in your community.
