Michiganders pay the highest energy costs in the Midwest. These lawmakers and candidates have pledged to refuse utility company money.

Big energy utility companies continue to see steady profits year-after-year; they prioritize shareholder dividends, and even give bonuses to their CEOs when they hike our rates higher, all while leaving us with electric bills we can’t afford and service we can’t rely on.

For far too long, big utility companies have used lawmaker contributions, dark money gifts, trips, tickets and junkets to hold outsized influence over lawmakers in Lansing to maximize their profits and block all legislative efforts to hold them accountable.

These candidates and lawmakers are taking a stand by taking Michigan LCV’s No Utility Money Challenge and rejecting money from utility companies who are trying to influence our politics.
