Key Information
HB 5428 would streamline the process for Michigan residents purchasing or renewing their license plates to add a Recreation Passport. This change could generate an additional $17.2 million for state parks, according to the House Fiscal Agency. HB 6219 would also provide free state park access for veterans and active-duty service members. Additionally, once 55% of people participate, HB 5873 would increase funding for local communities, helping to keep state parks affordable while improving recreation opportunities for all Michiganders.
