Take Action: Our Planet and Democracy Are Counting on Us

The Trump administration is waging an all-out war on our federal government, firing federal workers in Michigan and across the country, rolling back critical environmental protections, gutting the Environmental Protection Agency, reinvesting in coal and dirty fossil fuels, and letting polluters have free rein to contaminate our air, land, and water and endanger our health.

Our democracy hangs in the balance with new threats emerging to put restrictions on how people can vote and an all-out power grab from the Presidency.

Our air, land, water, and democracy have never needed us more.

Blog: House Republicans just voted to sell out our future

Just before the July 4th holiday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” Act – the sprawling, deeply dangerous tax and spending bill that threatens our clean energy future, raises energy costs for families, and adds trillions of dollars to the national deficit. Not very beautiful, if you ask us.

“We have been making so much progress for the last administration that we were getting credits, tax credits for EVs, for electrical vehicles and everything was going good. You had new projects that were funded, and there’s some states that are making money with the alternative energy projects that were funded. And now everything is on the chopping block. And I’m really scared that we’re going to lose where we were headed, and we’re going to go backwards for a while, and it’s going to take years to recover. And I have five grandchildren, and I’m very worried about their future and the climate that they’re going to be living in. And I’m an outdoors person, and I walk outside almost every single day and maintain my own yard, so I’m very conscious of the changing environment. I’ve lived in Michigan now for over 25 years and I’ve seen the difference. The winters aren’t what they used to be, and they’re warmer, they don’t last as long. And I’ve seen the weather patterns are just totally crazy. And it’s getting to be so unpredictable. And the fact that now that they’re trying to defund all of these agencies that give us updates and information about the weather the climate, are being also defunded. So we’re just going to be put in a place where we’re just not secure anymore. We’re not safe.”
