Tell the Michigan Senate: Deliver clean, affordable drinking water for Michigan communities

Access to clean, safe, affordable water is a basic human right. But water rates have steadily increased in recent years for communities across the state. Michiganders should never have to worry about whether they can afford water, especially at home.

Legislation has been introduced in Lansing that would finally address the rapidly increasing costs of water and protect the health and well-being of Michigan communities. Senate Bills 248-256 would establish a statewide Water Affordability Fund, provide direct bill assistance to low-income households, and ensure protection from shutoffs for vulnerable residents.

Every Michigander – regardless of where they live – deserves access to clean, safe, and affordable water. Join Michigan LCV in building support in Lansing for these common-sense bills that will help make water affordable for all.

Send a message to your state senator urging them to pass Senate Bills 248-256 and ensure every Michigander has access to clean, safe, affordable water →
